Ever notice how exciting it is when someone “doubles down?” It is the very essence of gambling, isn’t it? Whether the hand is good or bad, “doubling down” is an assertion that often wins, regardless of the quality of the cards. Someone with a terrible hand can win the largest pot, and drop fearful opponents by the wayside, by doubling down and projecting confidence.
What I see now, is GOP representatives doubling down on their reluctantly-endorsed candidate, who gambled his way into office.
45 seems to have taken his daddy’s money, plus a whole lotta’ BS, and basically ‘failed up’ in business by doubling down (and bullying and wielding wild accusation too). Always with the cameras rolling. Always with a emphasis on the win. He did the same with achieving the presidency. Can 45 make a deal? Yes. Is what he’s dealing any good? Hmm.
Now, we have a GOP House and Senate, oddly doing much of the same thing. They bet on this guy, and they put all their own principles, integrity and political goals in the hands of this character. They made a deal, and it doesn’t seem to be going well for them.
Some are beginning to see the pain of their choices: the ACA repeal will cost millions of real people decent health care. Their constituents are also waking up to the real losses to their quality of life and liberty. Their constituents are angry. Yet still, many GOP leaders are turning a deaf ear. Why? Maybe they think they can succeed like their buddy did?
The GOP’s continued bet on a questionable American (who loves Putin at best, and colluded with him at worst), may feel like their only choice. Or maybe they are simply like a cohort of teenagers, wanting to make it big, while following the biggest con down the road to the card shark. Perhaps, they think, the strategy that got Trump deep into the international game with a negative net worth, buckets of debt and beholden-ness, and a golden flying machine will also work for them? The thing is, does this strategy ever work for every player at the table?
What a few GOP senators and congressmen seem bold enough to do, is to get out of this game, and go back to principles that got them to the table to begin with. Fighting for their constituents and for the Constitution; requesting special counsel and investigators; distancing themselves and breaking away from the rush to cement 45’s agenda. There is a reason this stuff is getting rushed through… it cannot stand the test of time, or even a second look.
Many of us know America got hustled. And we got hustled good. But it is just plain embarrassing to see these second-class cons try to play the people like the big boys. They can’t win. Yet we can all lose.
What can you do when you see this crazy game…
with your life being what’s played?
Call your representatives, and tell them when they need to vote yay or nay.
Make sure each thing is in your best interest,
then REQUEST IMPEACHMENT.
