I want more than anything to break through. Break through the fog that’s clouded my country. The dark, gold dust-filtered smoke that chokes my loved ones and mesmerizes my foes.
A great heist is happening. And no one I know will benefit. Financial assets are moving further into the reaches of the cloistered, gilded ones. But the more dangerous heist, already bearing fruit, is the theft of people’s “eyes to see and ears to hear.” When a few charismatic characters use powers of manipulation, media and history to blind others from this grandest heist, I cry a little inside. How do you tell a television culture to wake up? Will these people ever know what they themselves did when they chose darkening days of fright and fascism over truth?
When did so many get caught in the lie that money is more important than decency? When did we collectively forget we share more than we can ever own singly? Why did so many turn away from the freedom of truth? Even if it is hard, knowing truth is better than only knowing the clouded words of greedy men.
How can we reverse this dire course and clear the skies to see the golden rays of the real sun.
