Walking with my son in the woods.
Our morning walk with the dog. He’s ahead.
“Ugh!” Flail. Face scrunch. “Why do spiders not learn, they keep making webs right across the path? We wreck them every time.”
Spiders make webs. And they do it every day. It’s what they do….
How else would they fill their time? How else would they be alive?
As a web-worker myself, I find myself doing this every day; working on the Internet. That’s my ‘web’ and the moniker of my company. Sometimes connectivity feels like it’s what I do even when I’m not working…
But I’m also free. Free to not do what I always do, to not be plugged in. To instead work on myself, my spirit, or to simply enjoy a walk in the woods with my son. Today, we break the web again. A spider outside their daily work, is a dead spider. A person outside their daily work, is something to behold. Free.
