See, I’m on a self-study immersion in the English language and American culture so as to become a better writer. And my course is pretty sloppy and more than a tad self-referential. You can tell by my “TOE” posts this is the case.
Also, what else do I have that’s authentic, save my own point of view? What about you?
I know, that I stand on the shoulders of giants who stand on the shoulders of giants before them.
We all do.

Immersion Education
I’m doing education this way because I feel compelled to write, and KNOW I have much to share with you. I have a full novel draft completed, still more outlined, and this blog. I also haven’t yet seen a writing program I’d like to join and/or can afford and/or feels feasible. I also could use the help of an outstanding editor.
And, while “back in school” I am also enjoying the liminal space between trying to write “well” and writing “authentically” while trying to forge my own way forward in this realm of great authors and writers.
I don’t want to do this like everybody else. Because satisfaction comes, much like it may have for Frank Sinatra, in doing it “my way.” Catch his self styled National Anthem below. Gotta love Frank.
As for admitting: I’ve been experiencing words lately in a collapsed way.
That is, I’ve been noticing the effects of conflating different layers of meaning of words, as opposed to separating them into diverse sub-meanings, or related definitions.
Like admitting, which includes whiffs of acknowledging truth, and also hearkens on entering an institution. With my kid looking at colleges, there’s yet another layer of the word “admitting” tweaking my interest in term “admissions” here too. Look it up in my favorite dictionary1 if you like.
I am also experiencing an inner kerfuffle between becoming credentialed (“to be taken seriously”) and just becoming, which may or may not be serious. One feels more valuable to me, and one makes for others rewarding the value in me. Yeah, I put the references in reverse order: latter first, then former.
Also, I’ve been paying attention to a top-of-word starter of note: CON- As in: Conflate, Content, Convene, Consequence, Con, and others. These words are all up in my face lately. This could be because of “imposter syndrome” which a few folks have accused me of harboring. F that.
So welcome again, to my digital compost: genuine, full of odd twists, and genuine interests, quirky turns, odd foot-noting, and content juxtapositions that change in a mobile-responsive environment2
That’s it. End of post.

- In mobile responsive design, images I put NEXT TO text, will stack above or below on a smaller screen. It’s the way the text still stays at a pica size you can read.
That’s pretty much the definition of mobile responsive: stacking and shrinking. So humans don’t stack and shrink per se: responsive humans are something quite different. A responsive human is one who sees what is needed, shows up, and helps fill gaps where they exist. I’ve done that too, but honestly, it’s a bit much when the people around me are greedy. ↩︎
