I am taking a deep exhale today.
My president honored the 400K dead at a memorial last night. He cared.
He will be sworn in in a few minutes.
Joe Biden reminds me of my dad, perhaps that’s why I like him so much:
He’s worked a long time in his field. He knows the mechanisms and levers, he uses them well, and prudently.
He’s a decent man. A family man. He has known great pain and that pain has made him compassionate. He serves.
He loves his wife, his kids, his dogs. He has dogs. Rescue dogs. This says something.;;,
Joe has character of a good man. He’s made mistakes, he’s grown, he knows this. He’s willing to learn. And Grow.
I trust him, even though he’s old (ageism be damned). He hires very smart, capable people who are experts at what they do. He is not threatened by this. He trusts, because he can be trusted.
Thanks Joe. You have one hell of a job, and I’ll be praying for you every step of the way. Me and millions of others voted for you, and are rooting for you. You got this. We got this.
Preparation begins tomorrow. We can restore democracy and our institutions, and we can do better. Prepare to dismantle white supremacy, and make a more perfect union. It is time.
