This website aims to provide to you a daily dose of truth or fiction, especially fiction that rings true. We all know the power of story-telling, and the seismic grace of women speaking the truth. I believe it was Iyanla Vanzant who said something like, “if a woman tells the truth about her life, the whole world can split open.” It is hard to imagine one essay a day carrying such outrageous power, or as a woman, wanting to split anything open except a butternut squash. But today, I’m embarking on a journey to share the truth, funny, fussy or fall-from-grace life stories, and to invite a discussion about being a woman, a mom, a mommess (a mythical creature that can be thought of as a gifted and inexhaustible Mama Mia), and Mom = Mess (mom= mess).
