When I dropped my daughter at preschool today, they had a guessing game for the kids: how many jelly beans are in the jar? The lesson for the day was to be how to count to 100. The preschoolers were proudly jotting down their guesses; 10, 60, 17, 51, and so on. Then of course, my daughter has her turn and proudly puts down 100. The ultimate possibility because it is THE MOST you could guess in the game, and that is HER STYLE. As the daughter of someone who is nearly always looking toward the end of the day, the end of the project, the end of the mood, the end, the max, the most, the ultimate… this is no surprise. What is up with this tendency (of some) to go all the way and/or to get to the finish fast?
